Prerequisites: previous HCD training, at least 3 months applying HCD and a passion for HCD
Welcome everyone to the human centered design capacity building workshop for Innovation community of practice members within LISTEN. We are so glad that you are spending your time with us learning more about HCD and how it can be used within LISTEN with the communities you are working with.
This section focuses on three key areas: selecting and identifying problem areas, gathering information to understand the problem better, and gaining insights into user behavior.
In the Define stage, we compile and analyze the observations gathered about the audience from the initial stage. We collect, organize, and analyze information and ecosystem learnings to identify problems and key opportunities for design to create an impact. The primary objective of this stage is to collaboratively determine a single direction for the problem statement.
The Ideation stage involves a two-step process: generating ideas and prioritizing them, followed by prototyping the selected ideas. This stage focuses on brainstorming and generating a wide range of ideas, then narrowing down and selecting the most promising ones for further development and prototyping.
In the Prototype & Learn stage, we begin by evaluating and prioritizing our design concepts for prototyping. We then plan which aspects of the concepts to develop into prototypes.
The module reflects on the ways that you can apply and implement HCD.
