1.0 Purpose and Objectives of Hungry Lions Football Club Community of Practice

Hungry Lions FC is under Lugongolweni Inkhundla under KaLanga chiefdom, which is a community football team as the team members are also KaLanga community members. The team members are of the age group of 10-40 years of which most are in school. Hungry Lions FC has 40 team members excluding their loyal fans which has become part of their team members and they are looking forward to extending the team with the ladies’ soccer team as of this season. 

The objectives of the CP

      1. To compete in the premier league.
      2. To gather the Kalanga youth through the playing of sports.
      3. To be a source of job creation for the Kalanga chiefdom through businesses.
      4. To help elderly and poor people in the community.
      5. Participate in clean-up activities in the community.

2.0 Coordination Structure

The structure consists of Chairperson Bheki Dludlu, the Vice Chairperson Sicelo Ndzinisa and the Secretary is Mphendulo Lukhele.

3.0 Communication and Engagement

Hungry lions football club group engagements will be held every Thursday bi-weekly at SOS Sports ground. Additionally, platforms such as WhatsApp, and conference calls will be utilized in lieu of in person meetings when need arises.

4.0 What Matters to the CoP and the MOH-LISTEN linkage 

      1. Cancer screening, HTS services, VMMC, STI screening, breast cancer screening, cervical cancer, FP, PrEP & PEP and diabetic screening
      2. Economic strengthening activities/Enterprise Facilitation
      3. Community led HIV response (sustained community groups)
      4. Use of HCD for engagement; engage community 0f practice; To identify and engage CPs/ target groups
      5. Team to compete in the super league
      6. Train team doctors on first-aid kit
      7. Have club house for the team as well as for the teams’ meetings.
      8. Engage the KaLanga youth through liguma and lisango for HIV prevention education.
      9. Accessing health care services through mobile outreaches in the community.
      10. To help elderly and poor people in the community.
      11. To help elderly and poor people in the community and participate in clean-up activities in the community.
